Marciniuk updates with latest photo tour

Construction action keeps gaining rapid momentum here at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex.

Crews have been busy out here building new buildings and working on improvements to the facility. Our Operations Manager Johnny Marciniuk took his latest photo tour on Friday, and he shows building are going up in quick order and improvements are being completed rapidly.

The crews working at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex have been doing outstanding work.

Marciniuk brought back nine pictures to show the progress that was made by the end of the week.

The first floor of the new Leakos Field press box is complete which will house electrical for the new field and lighting and storage. The second floor when complete will house announcers and scorekeeper and score clock operators.

In the two photos above, trees continue to be installed along a new walking path. The pathway from Holiday Park/Saskatoon Minor Football Field overflow parking lot (Avenue U) to the Bob Van Impe Stadium parking lot are shown.

Masonry block is being installed on our ticket sales centre that will serve baseball, track and field, Nordic skiing and speed skating.

The Nordic Ski/Softball Tournament Building is nearing completion. Hardy board has arrived and will be installed on all of our four new outbuildings next week.

Bleacher relocation to Leakos Field and Bob Van Impe Stadium is complete. The bleachers at Leakos Field are shown.

Fencing continues and tree installation is complete on the north side of the Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval and the Track and Field Complex.

The new storage building for Cairns Field is nearing completion.

Tree and shrubs have been planted at the Holiday Park/Saskatoon Minor Football Field overflow parking lot.

It is an exciting time here at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex to see these construction projects and improvements going full speed ahead.

We plan to show off more construction progress in the coming weeks, so we hope you will feel free to keep checking in.
