How do I book an outdoor facility?

How do I make and pay for a booking in the FFUN Performance Centre?

Make A Reservation

To reserve the FFUN Performance Centre , follow these simple steps:

Step One Create an account

If this is your first time making a reservation , please create an account. See the Step-by-step Guide to Creating Your Account on the right-hand side of the log in page.

Step Two Make a Reservation
Once your account is set up, click on the Rent a Facility box along the top and see the options under FFUN Performance Centre

Choose your facility and then from the facility screen,  select: the duration, number of people (a best guess is fine) as well as the date and time.  Click reserve on bottom left.

No reservation will be accepted without payment.  On the next screen you will see an order summary.  If your order is complete put in your credit card information and click Place My Order.

If your reservation is not competed,  click Continue Shopping until you have completed your reservation,  after which you will put in your credit card information and click Place My Order.

 

Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance. Clients can cancel bookings up to a week in advance through an email to eventsbookings@howesports.ca. GHSC reserves the right to refuse any cancellation less than 7 days in advance. If an exception is allowed,  a $5.00 cancellation fee will be applied to the refund.  

Can you provide a facility for a meeting?

The GHSC has a large Main Hall perfect for large meetings of 55- 300 people. This room must be booked in conjunction with catering. 

For meetings of up to 55 people we have the SaskTel Learning Centre in the Indoor Training Centre. For smaller meetings up to 35 people you can also book the small classroom in the FFUN Performance Centre. Please contact eventbookings@howesports.ca for details.

What kind of events are held in the Main Hall?

Our hall, located in Gordie Howe Sports Centre, overlooking the SMF Field hosts events such as weddings, memorials, steak nights, fundraisers, banquets, catered meetings.

I am interested in booking the Main Hall for an event. What do I do?

To book a meeting or event in our main hall please email eventbookings@howesports,ca.

Once we receive your request we will ensure the date you have requested is available and can be tentatively booked.

Note: We do supply a podium, wired microphone as well as projection to our multiple screens around the room.

Please indicate the audio-visual requirements you will have as a service charge may be added based on your needs.  

Our food service and alcoholic beverage service provider is Flavours Catering 306-955-1926 email smileysbuffet@shaw.ca.

Flavours Catering will be happy to provide you with a quote, show you around our facility and answer all your setup and catering questions. They are cc’d on the e-mail but please feel free to contact them if you would like an immediate response. 

To formalize your booking please create a GHSC client account on our public access booking website.

Once this is completed, please let us know you have made the account and the exact time of the booking. We will send out an invoice and a copy of the Facility Service Agreement. Formalization of the booking demonstrates acceptance of the service agreement. 

A final invoice for room rental will be emailed to you by GHSCMI following the event if it remains unpaid. Flavours will invoice you separately for catering costs.

Does GHSC provide catering for all events on the complex?

The Complex caterers are Flavours Catering, https://www.smileysbuffet.com/pages/flavours_catering.html they are the only catering allowed in the complex. 

Does the GHSC have a concession?

Major events in our outdoor facilities during the summer will have access to a concession. The concession for SMF Field and Joe Gallagher Fastball field is located on the ground floor of the GHSC Sports Centre facing west. 

This will provide services to such events as minor football, Hilltops games, High School football games as well as softball tournaments.

A concession is located at Bob Van Impe Stadium in the plaza near the entrance. There is also concession found in the K+S building which will service Track and Field meets, the Saskatoon Berries Games as well as Baseball tournaments. This will also be available for winter competition on track and the Nordic Ski area.

Can I book a private function at the oval?

Yes.  Please contact eventbookngs@howesports.ca.

The cost for renting the oval is $175/hour plus GST. It can be booked after 6:00 pm on weekends and after 8:30 pm Monday to Thursday.  GHSCMI will make the booking for you.

However, it will be placed under your account so please make an account at https://app.bookking.ca/gordiehowesportscomplexpub/account/client/index.asp

Once you choose a date, please check to see if anyone has the date you are looking for at https://app.bookking.ca/gordiehowesportscomplexpub/calendars/facilities/index.asp

Once you have a date, please e-mail the date and time as well as how many skaters and the name of the account. GHSCMI will send you confirmation along with our policy sheet and you will be able to pay online immediately with your credit card.

The new K + S Multi-Sports Centre will be open to support skating at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex.

The amenities include the following:

  • Full washroom facilities
  • Change-rooms/Shower facilities
  • Main Floor warm-up gathering area
  • Background music during skating events
  • Exterior bleacher seating during public skating 
  • Vending machine for snacks and beverages 


We do not allow outside food or drink as we would be happy to connect you to our food service provider. Light snacks are allowed in. 

All skaters must bring their own skates as rentals are not available.

Can anyone use the track?

The track is reserved for those who have a booking. It can be booked by track clubs, schools, and training groups.

The public can take out an inexpensive membership which allows them access to the track outside of regular booked hours generally from 9:30am – 1:00pm for the months of July and August.

How do I go about booking the oval for my class?

School bookings can be made between 11:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Thursday from December 18 to February 29th. They are at no cost.

We do not have skates or helmets to rent as all skaters must supply their own.

Can the public use the speed skating oval?

The public can access the oval Monday to Thursday from 11:00am to 5:00pm and from 7:30pm – 8:30pm.

On weekends they can skate from noon to 6:00pm. No booking is required but check the calendar to ensure the facility is not closed due to competition or weather-related issues.

We do not have skates to rent as all skaters must supply their own.

Can the public access the Nordic ski area?

Anyone is welcome at Nordic Ski area. The public can have access to the K+S Centre for warm-up and washrooms during Public Skating hours.

Hours are Monday to Thursday from 11:00am to 5:00pm and from 7:30pm – 8:30pm.

On weekends they can skate from noon to 6:00pm. No booking is required but check the calendar to ensure the facility is not closed due to competition or weather-related issues.

In the evening the area within our complex grounds are lit.

Can the public access the Nordic ski area?

Anyone is welcome at Nordic Ski area. The public can have access to the K+S Centre for warm-up and washrooms during Public Skating hours.

What is the difference in cage rentals at the FFUN Performance Centre?

The FFUN Performance Centre has 9 cages.

All cage rentals come with balls and access to tees, nets and pitching mounds or rubbers. 
We have three – 60 foot pitching cages. These are generally used to practice pitching late hitting and fielding and do not include a pitching machine. 

We also have three softball hitting cages.

  • S1 includes an electronic Hack Attack pitching machine and the HitTrax analytics system. Users can see a sequence of pitches while getting their hit analyzed and the result of the hit in some of the most famous stadiums in the world.
  • S2 has the electronic hack attack pitching machine but does not have the HitTrax system. 
  • S3 is designed for novice use as it features a dialled hack attack pitching machine, where the user can set the three dials based on the level of experience of the hitter. The user can use cranks to move the pitch up or down or in our out. 

B2 is a multiuse 75-foot cage with a high ceiling. It can be used for live hitting, pitching, or fielding. It is 15 feet longer than the pitching cages and has higher netting. 

We also have two other baseball hitting cages.

Can I bring my dog into the complex?

No animals with the exception of service dogs are allowed on the complex grounds.
