McCullough takes centre stage in photo roundup
Written by Gordie Howe Sports Complex staff
Hannah Hagerty is leaping to the world stage in track and field even with having a relatively late start to the sport.
The 24-year-old Regina product product is a star for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Women’s Track and Field Team in the long jump and the 4 X 200-metre relay. She actually didn’t start taking up track and field until her Grade 11 year at Campbell Collegiate in Regina.
She took part in dance for a long time before trying out ringette. After finding track and field, Hagerty found a place that she belonged.
This past season with the Huskies, Hagerty won the Canada West title in the women’s long jump and was a member of the Huskies 4 X 200-metre women’s relay team that claimed the conference title. Her Huskies 4 X 200-metre relay team would capture a silver medal at the U Sports Championships.

Thanks to her big season, Hagerty was named to Canada’s team that will take part in the FISU Summer World University Games that run July 16 to 27 in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. She will compete in the women’s long jump in track and field.
A story on Hagerty is our main feature for the July upload of our “Howe Happenings” blog. In the piece, Hagerty discusses her journey in the sport of track and field. She also chats about her family’s athletic history and how much they support her track and field career.
To go with the story on Hagerty, July’s “Howe Happenings” has a photo roundup that showcases Devon McCullough’s outstanding performance at the recently completed Super 8 International Men’s Fast Pitch 4 Nations Cup. The photo roundup also features action from baseball, football, softball and track and field.
You can find these items on the “Howe Happenings” blog at howehappenings306.blogspot.com.
New content will be released on the ninth day of each month. We hope you will enjoy the stories that make up the posts on the “Howe Happenings” blog.
