Spring season off and running in photo roundup

Patrick Neufeld is a familiar face in two communities thanks to the sport of football.

The long time veteran offensive lineman became a U Sports star playing for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Football Team for five seasons from 2006 to 2010. These days, Neufeld is best known for his exploits with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers helping them win the Grey Cup the last two times it was presented in 2019 and 2021.

In the off-season, Neufeld still has roots in Saskatoon. He can be found regularly at the Indoor Training Centre putting in work to prepare for the upcoming CFL season.

Neufeld, who played both right guard and right tackle last season with the Blue Bombers, is a regular that helps guest coach with Saskatoon Minor Football’s annual Playground to Pros Camp, which helps develop skills and fundamentals at the grassroots level.

A feature on Neufeld is the lead story for this month’s content upload on Howe Happenings. Neufeld talks about how a Saskatchewan born and raised player can become a CFL hero in Winnipeg and how he enjoys helping young players learn the game at the Playground to Pros Camp.

Besides the piece on Neufeld, we have a photo round up that shows how the spring season has shot into action at the many facilities on our grounds.

You can find these items on the “Howe Happenings” blog at howehappenings306.blogspot.com.

New content will be released on the ninth day of each month. We hope you will enjoy the stories that make up the posts on the “Howe Happenings” blog.
