Photo round up enjoys last moments of fall
Andrew Albers made it back to AAA baseball and “The Show.”
The North Battleford, Sask., product often stops in at our Indoor Training Centre during the off-season to help out young players along with preparing for his own upcoming professional season. This past season, Albers returned to play at the AAA and Major Baseball League levels for the first time since 2017.
At age 35, Albers suited up for the St. Paul Saints at the AAA level and later found himself on the field for five appearances with the Saints parent MLB club the Minnesota Twins this past season.
For this month’s content upload, the “Howe Happenings” blog caught up with Albers to talk with him about this past season. He discussed how much more of a factor analytics impacts games at the AAA and MLB levels now compared to when he was last in those circuits in 2017.
Albers talked about how much he enjoys helping out young players, when he drops in at the Gordie Howe Sports Centre in his off-season. He believes it is important to give back to Saskatchewan’s baseball system for helping him get to the sport’s highest levels.
On top of checking in with Albers, there is a new photo round up post on “Howe Happenings” that gives a glimpse on what has been happening on the Gordie Howe Sports Complex as the fall season nears the finish line. That includes the KFL, high school football and the CJFL’s Saskatoon Hilltops holding playoff action at Saskatoon Minor Football Field.

New content will be released on the ninth day of each month. We hope you will enjoy the stories that make up the posts on the “Howe Happenings” blog.
